American Thanksgiving has come and gone (somehow it was already like two weeks ago, WTF). The holidays are officially here. I have yet to decorate my apartment (because I have been drowning in work, as I shared on earlier this week). This weekend, I will get the wee tree up and then I will wrap all the things. I’ve been into tying gift bows lately and have some amazing peacock ribbon that I’m excited to use. Before we get into my November 2017 Favorites, don’t forget to check out (and enter, duh) my Real Techniques Sculpting Set Giveaway; there’s only a week left!
Get it Straight
The straightening brush I shared recently has very rapidly become a favorite and I can’t wait to pen the whole post explaining why. I can wash and air dry my hair (which usually leaves it looking crazy), then smooth it out at a later time in less than FIVE MINUTES with this. I don’t even have to wake up early to use it.
3 Minute Magic
Continuing on the hair note, cold weather means I’m reaching for hot tools more often in general. This also means I need to quench my hair’s inevitable thirst. I’ve been using 3 Minute Miracle for years and have been talking about it on this blog for years. It’s that good – and yeah, it’s drugstore. Who could ask for more?
Still so Thrilled
I’ve included C-Firma a lot lately, but the new bottle I got with my Come C About Me Set. I really can appreciate the difference that occurs with an oxidized serum – it’s like night and day! My skin is looking amazingly radiant with this serum I kinda want to buy another with the VIB $20 off $50 but it will oxidize before I get to it. When you’re spending this much on a single product, it is easy to not be satisfied but I would buy this again and again.
Un-Fancy … but Effective
Gratuitous tissue use, even when the tissues are fancy and have lotion, can wreak havoc on the skin around the nose. When I was afflicted with The Sickness recently, my poor nose was in poor shape: dry, irritated. When restocking my cold meds, I picked up a tub of Vaseline and coated the skin on and around my nose with it. Was it cute? No. Did it feel good? No, it felt gross. I didn’t expect it to do much but it saved. my. skin. Instead of molting, my skin returned to normal before the rest of me recovered. Such a simple little thing that many people already have in their houses – do this next time you’re hitting the Kleenex hard, you’ll thank me.
Nailed It
It’s December, so it is all I’m Not Really a Waitress all the time. I just gave myself a manicure and pedicure with the classic formula on my toes and the OPI Gelcolor version on my fingers. There is a slight difference in the colors; the classic looks better to me, but not enough to deter me from using gel on my nails. I should have shared a #manimonday photo on Instagram, but I was still In The (Drowning in Work) Zone. Looks lovely. For something a little more festive, China Glaze Ruby Pumps is also excellent.
