When I heard Milani Eye Tech Extreme may be a reasonable dupe for Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner, I had to look into it. Glorious as the felt-tip liner from Stila is, it is about $20 for a full size at regular price, which makes me kind of sad. This product, however, is only about $7-8.
Featuring a fine felt tip, the Milani Easy Tech Extreme liquid liner is structured very similarly to the Stay all Day and should be able to product similar results. According to Milani’s Site:
Non-feathering, waterproof blackest black formula lasts all day without flaking our budging.
I tested it out to see how well it met that claim. Here are the pictures, taken and laid out similarly to the Stila test.

Yeah, not awake yet. But this is it slapped on, no mascara yet.

Awake now! This is probably my favorite from the set. Still looking good.

On my left eye (right in the picture) you can see some light feathering.

The feathering didn’t ruin everything forever. Don’t mind my obnoxious shine; it was an eye-only day.

Sorry again for the wildly varied lighting, but you work with what you have. So while it didn’t wear quiiiite as well (slight feathering with primer), it still fought the good fight and even managed to stand up to unexpected tears and light eye-dabbing. The rich black ink stayed put. The grip area is a nice addition and something that I have yet to find on any other liquid liner. Hooray for ergonomic considerations in cosmetics! The felt tip, I find, is also slightly more flexible than that of the Stila product – depending on your preferences this could be a boon or bust.
There are a few nuances about it that make the Stila product superior – the felt tip on the Stila product produces more ink at a faster rate – you need to practice patience with the Milani Eye Tech Extreme. It doesn’t take a long time (really, it isn’t bad at all), but if you used Stila Stay All Day first, you’re going to be like, “This feels like eternity!” I find it slightly easier to produce a crisp wing with Stila because the tip is slightly finer, but bear in mind that I am mediocre with these products, application-wise, and if you’re awesome with them you may not notice those problems.
I recommend Milani Eye Tech Extreme as a cost-effective alternative to Stila Stay all Day. At less than half the price, it is a nice way to try this type of product without committing to something you may not enjoy. I do plan on doing a side-by-side on these two products soon, so look forward to that!
